Mvelo (35, right) and Qondi Nzalo (35, left) are the parents to this 6 week old baby. They are both HIV positive and both on lifelong ART treatment.  Qondi was treated in the PMTCT (prevention mother to child transmission) program, to try to avoid her baby being born HIV-positive. Her husband is a brickbuilder.
My wife was tested HIV-positive when she went to the clinic [MSF] for her first anti natal care visit. My mother died of AIDS and that made me decide to start treatment when I was tested positive too. My wife and I are doing this together.
This treatment gives me a chance for a future, we are able to make plans now. Men should listen to their wives and get educated. They should come to the clinic with their wives. When my father died I always stayed with my mother. I would like to help speak out on the importance of this treatment and how easy it is to follow it. On the 7th of November we will hear if our baby is healthy. But whether she is infected or not, we are blessed anyway.  – Swaziland, MSF clinic Matsapha. October 2013
